Good Morning WedNEsDAy :)

My contribution this week is after an effort/time (2 weeks) I spent making homemade black plexiglass. Bought clear plexi from local store and did not get reflection I was looking for. So started looking around for an option and one easy solution was to spray paint. Another visit to the local store for glossi black spray paint. After few days (spraying + drying) I could use this, not the best as readily available online. May be I will buy bigger version of this online after practicing on smaller sheet.

This is for all Baseball fans out here... D90 + Tamron 90 and hot shoe mounted flash.

f/3.5 1/60 ISO 200

This is one of two domes at the Maria Mitchell Observatory on Nantucket. The other one houses a modern 24-inch reflector that makes images for research using a digital camera. (Apparently astronomers don't use film anymore.)

This dome contains a 100-year-old 8-inch refractor and is open to the public. When I snapped this, the telescope was pointed west at Venus. You can see Saturn in the sky toward the south. The fog was rolling in, as it does so often there, and the viewing was soon obscured.

D700, 24-70 @ 24mm, ISO 6400, 1/2 sec. @ f/2.8. Camera braced on a fence post.

00WuF6-261985684.jpg.bd224996203b8e181b360453eda8c9ae.jpg

i had some fun this past weekend, going retro. i borrowed back my old D40 and mounted a vintage nikkor-Q 200/4 lens, just to see what i came up with. it turned out to be an effective and enjoyable combination -- one that puts the photographer back in the driver's seat!

00WuFz-262001684.jpg.977b3d431626b8259e2708f106b0a345.jpg

Hard to believe another week has come and gone and I only went out one day to shoot. It has been just far to hot . The only thing I could find moving about was a very friendly dragon fly. This little guy landed on my finger and just sat there cocking his head looking at me. I read that each eye has 30,000 facets making it have the best eye site in the insect family as they can see 360 degrees. It was a neat experience.

00WuGz-262009684.jpg.2ba305498370d4e86489dc8b645989fc.jpg

I developed some film at home for the first time since 1985, and scanned it for the first time ever. This is T-Max 100 in the Nikomat FT2, taken June 9th as seen in Wednesday Pic #23. The flower taken in that exact shot needs a little more cleanup before it sees the light of the Internet. FT2 with PB-5 Bellows and Micro 55 f3.5 pre AI. Did not record exposure data.

00WuIi-262041584.jpg.b0cb6336bba8c7dd05e6dacdc7647663.jpg

A beautiful Nikon Wednesday to everyone! Tons of great stuff today, I'll have to come back and spend some more time appreciating it all (when I'm not at work).

My contribution today is from a local Aquarium here in Phoenix. I know- an aquarium in a place like Phoenix, Arizona! I was surprised to find it too. This was a tank of jellyfish that were very curious about my camera lens it seems. They would rush the glass when i brought it near, and when it was away, they would just list about lazily.

Shot this at ISO 1600 (no light), F 5.6, 1/500 on my 55mm lens

00WuJn-262047584.JPG.a1c51ea01b0348b9d71231836b0171d9.JPG

Wow, very awesome week everybody. Mine this week is from my view of a severe storm that was passing a bit south of me. I could see the storm passing with severe lighting and other severe conditions, several buildings and even people were injured seriously, but I was on the very north edge and got nothing but a few pics. So I have titled this "July Storm Clouds", very original no doubt. Safe and Happy Wednesday to all.

Techie Details for my shot was Nikon D200, old Tamron 28-80 SP 3.5/4.5 at about 60mm and f5.6 @ 1/60th and ISO 125, B+W KR 1.5 tweaked in PS Elements 6.0

00WuJw-262051584.jpg.280d2f13ce4ac39ff5fe69f922748833.jpg
