1.
With all those people getting away from Canon to get Sony mirrorless, see if they are selling what you are interested in. One man's trash is another man's treasure.

 2.
Rick Drawbridge has it right. I have one in my box of Bakelites, not sure if I have the flash with it. And, as you could see from Rick's link, it is rather nondescript.

 3.
Jason, take a picture of what is in the case above the camera in your picture. It doesn't look like the accessory lenses for the EX lenses, but it could be one of them. That could make the difference between a camera you could use, and a camera worth selling.

 4.
For the 100mm tele, the viewfinder would usually have a smaller clear box to look through, like cropping out what wouldn't be in the frame. If it is just an outline box, make sure what you want to capture is inside the lines.

 5.
I must have the professional version. It has the BG-ED3 Battery grip, and was used by a professional tennis photographer. It came with an older EOS 10s, that was used at the Barcelona Olympics in 1992. I recently picked up the nifty 50, and both cameras seem to work fine. I haven't put film through the 10s yet, but will someday.
I never got a charger for the D30, but I have a Powershot G1 that takes the same battery, so I can power this monster up.

 6.
You may want to contact Sigma, 3 years may be within the warranty period for that lens. I had my 70-200 serviced at about that age at no charge.

 7.
That was the reason I bought my D40. I don't think they changed anything on the mounts of any of the consumer cameras. I did get a couple converted to use on the D7000.

 8.
I recently picked up a Canon D30, luckily for just helping clean out a house. It does work, but is so far out of date, it is mainly a curiosity. I never had any problems reading the CF card either through a reader or directly connected to the CF slot in an HP Pavilion computer.
I downloaded the manual from Canon, but it really doesn't have a lot of info on reading the cards. Just make sure you format the card in the camera
I would try taking a few pictures, and going to a drug store photo kiosk, and insert the card into one of their readers. You would have to use jpeg files for them to be able to read the card.

 9.
Or maybe Firefox crashing...

 10.
I don't know which was more surprising... The miniature rosebush coming back to life, or somehow getting a successful picture using the D7000, an SB700 in master mode on a cable, another in remote mode, and an AI converted (no chip) 55mm f3.5 micro lens.

 11.
I learned a lot from the Strobist, but for on camera flash, take a look at Neil van Niekerk's site: http://neilvn.com/tangents/

I should have checked Wouter's link, he got there first. I thought he was showing one of David Hobby's tutorials.

 12.
I ran some Plus-x through my F100 over the course of a year or so. I think this was with the 55 3.5 AI'd.

 13.
I've been having a little trouble doing my own developing, so I sent out a couple of rolls I had hanging around for the last year or so. Here is a shot from an Agfa Silette my aunt gave me. I just need to find out where the scratch across most of the roll came from. The insides of the camera are very clean. I don't think my aunt ran more than 5 or 6 rolls through it since around 1958. Color Agnar 3.5 45mm lens on plus x.

 14.
I have a D7000, and have been using only the original battery since new in early 2011(?). I have always carried a backup camera instead of a backup battery. For a few years I used a D100 with a battery back with 2 Radio Shack batteries I found in a store at a very low clearance price. I never had any trouble with those batteries. After my D100 gave up, I picked up a used low mileage D200, and recently picked up an Insten brand En-El3e battery. I haven't cycled it more than twice yet, it seems to work fine. I just wish the D100 to D200 didn't jump from the En-el3 to En-el3e batteries.
