Thank you Joseph for the comments. It's appreciated. :) I'm back at work in full force, so won't be able to comment on each photo for a while, but as always, I enjoyed looking at each one and reading the stories that were shared. I normally can't pick a favorite photo, but my personal favorite this week is Per-Christian's "Opposite Directions". Talk about timing, being at the right place at the right time, seeing the "opposites"...AND ready to capture the moment! Great shot and a fine example of serendipity. (I'm really glad you posted this one, but also saddened by the reasons you didn't post your daughter's photo. Unfortunately, you're right.)

Until next week...happy shooting!

I have to give a shout out to Joseph Leotta for saying something nice about every one of the entries here. Not that it's hard to say nice things about them, but there are so many. The effort is appreciated.
And that goes the same for everyone else too. The quality of the images I see here week after week has just been astounding and inspirational. I look forward to the work next week.

Sadly, due to lack of time available to me to be at a computer I don't get a chance to comment as much as I would like on the photos presented here each week. I have a little time today so I would like to give some comments if I may.

Jose - What a great start. The colours are 'retro' yet bold at the same time. Almost like 1930's Chicago.
Per-Christian - I can just imagine what that sounded like!
Justin - great colour and nice 3D look.
Chris - Looks almost like an ancient maze cast in stone. Very crisp.
Rene' - That countryside needs exploring in greater detail. Lovely light.
Pedro - I always like diffraction stars and that crisp photo shows that the Series E lenses are very nice despite the grumbles (I have some too).
Shun - I find cacti very fascinating, and those almost look like hot air balloons from above.
Lil - That is very nice, and looks almost like a charcoal sketch or a computer generated image. Real, yet also unusual - loads to see in there.
Anish - That made me smile and just LOVE those lime green feathers!
Bogdan - Muted, graphic and very odd - I looked at it for a good while and found myself wanting to know more. Any photos of inside the dhow?
Monika - A cool and shady scene. Very lifelike and peaceful.
Robert - I like it. Reminds me of my sister when she was younger. So earnest but happy inside.
Nick - I can feel the humidity!
Erik - Reminds me of the 1970's and Instamatics (in a good way). Fun by the pool, snacks and the smell of sun cream.
Matthew - Very clean landscape. Would look nice printed large and hung in a restaurant.
Ton - Simple yet very satisfying.
Darko - Nice moment caught there. Almost looks like your daughter is meditating, yet we know she is active. Perfect.
Jeannean - that insect almost looks like a miniature Doctor Who monster - silver and tough.
Richard - Nice colour and feel there. Insects get on better than people sometimes.
Illka - The rich tones and simple structure appeal to me very much. I need to try similar myself (note to self - need to take my tripod out more).
Susan - A pleasing image - they look very happy there.
Barry - Makes me want to know more.
Lex - I lile these caring hands - makes me want to reach out.
Ken - Very realistic. I could almost be there. 24mm is great for the city.
Alejandro - I like the colours very much (as does the bee by the look of things).
Eric - You have succeeded. Reminds me of the vintage Ella Fitzgerald photos.
Kent - Nice portrait.
Louis - There is nothing better than an outing with happy dogs. He looks a caring owner.
PW - Nice subject and exposure.
Hamish - good action shot. Sadly if I had tried that as a boy I would have hurt myself (I was forever falling).
Wayne - Nice poise and framing.
Sjoerd - Well photographed. I can almost hear that pan clattering.
Leo - I like the reflection and soft light.
Richard - Lovely smile and pose.
Randy - Very dramatic, but I do see what looks like compression patterns in the sky (perhaps it is my monitor).
Aguinaldo - Very bold and sunny. A very photogenic subject I agree.
Sanford - A great and timeless subject well executed.
Rick - She will love this photo when she is older I assure you!
Ray - Makes me want to get out there and play.
Jim - What did you say to make her pull that face at you ;-)
Jeff - Almost like an iced up waterfall.
William - They make fishing look so easy don't they?
Benjamin - The colours just pop!
Gwen - Nicely done - but the horse on the left has seen it all before you can tell!
Jon - Nice graphic light and subject.
Joe - Very apt.
Albin - I like taking such subjects myself.
Paul - Lovely horses.
Kemal - I love flamenco so your photo speaks to me.
Carey - Very well done. Would make a great wall shot.
Tim - Great warm colour and the photo has a timeless feel.
Dieter - Simple yet lovely.
Jon - Has multiple layers and qualities that work together very well.
Matt - Nice form and composition. The sort of photo I would be proud to take.
Roberta - Don't worry about the softness - this sort of photo does not need to be pin sharp to work - indeed I would wager those apes felt in a soft mood anyway!
Nimesh - Well done for catching that happy moment.
Rodger - Unusual and not just a little spooky.
Lawrence - Good macro work.
Richard - Lovely light, pose and composition. The colours are just great.
Mike - Always love backlighting - what are they doing?
Ofey - Great colour and happy mood.
Kim - Nice cool and subdued mood.
Charles - Simple and pleasing.
Doug - Nice portrait and the lighting really helps the image.
Robert - I hope he is a friendly dog!
Dan - A rare moment indeed when they are at that age!
Paula - Nice to be there to see such birds.
Thomas - A good eye you have there. I bet most people would walk past but this is a great photo.
Christopher - Lovely dusky hues and silhouettes.
James - Another great clean architecture photo.
John - You did very well given the conditions.
James - Very graphic.
Joseph - Winter is not all that far away now...
Phil - I like the composition and it works very well as I scroll up the photo.
Cees - Crisp tones and well done - but is that a touch of lens distortion or how the view actually was?
Keith - A simple and happy moment.
Wayne - Happy doge are always good to see.
David - Very Brooklyn - I like it.
Joseph - You have my heart. You have a great character there.
Bryan - That is why I don't like canoes!
Filip - The sunlight and metal is very nice.
Emilio - A pleasing moment caught on film.
Shekar - Hope you are enjoying your new camera. The results look good for sure.
Janne - Potent and pleasing!
Mircea - Simple, but there is alot to see in your photo.
Steve - The rosey hue is very pleasant and restful.
Jose - Yes, but thank goodness you are not a mouse!
Tony - It was worth the police stop. Perhaps he was a photographer too?
Tom - Loads of detail there. Is that the old pre-Ai 85mm?
Steve - Good colour.
Heather - I too have been taking photos of my charry tomatoes - did you take some when they were on the plant?
Kiem - Nicely done.
Dave - Nice image you have created there - one step either way makes a big difference in such places.
Alex - Nice to see good friends.
Wouter - Interesting light and angle.
Keerthi - Perhaps he is sticking his tongues out at you!
Jesse - I love the shape and form. Well done for spotting it!
Luis - A camera makes a lovely gift. She will love it I am sure.
Zoltan - Great photo and the colour is just perfect.
Thangavalu - Looks like a prehistoric landscape. My sort of photo.
Waldemar - Now I want to see the photo on their camera and laugh too!
Mikhail - Really nice landscape and perfect framing.
Jonas - Nice community there.
Shane - Almost radioactive and the lightning bolt adds to the photo. Very unusual.

Monika Espefas, Joseph Leotta (how are your eyes?), Ian Rance, thank you so much for your comment. As an East Coast early riser, I post early in the morning of Wednesday and hurry to office, then I can't have much time to look through well the rest of the thread - my apologies for being lazy and not really participating. I certainly am not qualified to make comments on those wonderful photos but let me put what I felt with plain English (not my 1st language, pardon me). I will just mention the ones I REALLY like. Needless to say, I like many, many more of the photos.
Jose - the low light capability of D700 and the roughness of high ISO actually gives nice touch.
Pedro - very well done night scene.
Lil - reminds me of, I don't know why, "Pan's labyrinth."
Anish - I really really like this series of yours.
Monika - I once tried the similar scene, but couldn't do quite well.
Ian Rance - Interesting and funny composition with dog at the end of leash I don't know how long :-)
Ton - Somehow, very impressive photo.
Jeannean - you get better and better every week. Nice work.
Richard - I haven't tried, but I got attracted to these insect /flower shots.
Lex - reminds me of my mother who just lost her husband.
Alejandro - nice bee, very sharp.
Leo Laski - the inverted building in the water drop... Nice.
Aguinaldo - beautiful sunflower and sky/cloud.
Carey - wonderful, very, very detailed shot.
Dieter - beautiful blue beach.
Matt - very nice b&w silhouette shot
Mike McDermott - for some reason, very impressive profile.
Kim Senior - like painting!
Thomas Burden - beautiful colors!
James Kazan - nice interior shot of a designer building. Nice white wall and blue chair combo.
Cees Maas - nice b&w sky. Beautiful.
Filip Lucin - I, too, like this time of the day and nice shot of the moment with the ferry.
Steve Lyon - I like the composition and pink air.
Tony Hadley - nice view with beautiful color.
Steve Belden - so nice color and bridge.
Wouter - interesting and impressive "foot" :-)
Dave Walsh - intersting composition. Good color.
Zoltan - I can feel the warmth of the candle. Background stained glass is also nice.
Gary McGhee - Very nice, mysterious surrounding of the light house.
Jonas Fjellstedt - wonderful take of the street.
Yuriy Granov - nice timing and I can see how much she loves you.
Ertugrul - interesting. Half fine, half cloudy (stormy is coming?).
Jill Bingham - ah, so fantasic.
Ty Yang - so funny. Well done!

Thank you all. I always look forward to the next Wednesday, and I will go out and take photos this weekend to take something worth posting here. Practice, practice, practice....

Thanks Monika (... yes, I am!), Carey, Alex, Wouter, Gary, Matt, Joseph, Paul, Ian, Ken, Sjoerd for your comments or mentions... much appreciated.

Now, a few thoughts:
Ian Rance, once again I like your two-staged, life-backgrounded pic. Your subject is beautiful and lovely but your blurred background is a subtle but more interesting scene to my liking. You make me notice that my pics are just flat images in a unique plane... I see a lot in your images.
Lex, your pic contain humanity (I`d say your pics, it`s not the first time). I like it.
Aguinaldo, your sunflower pic is a classic, beautiful, plenty of color. I like also the way you have used a 14mm lens.
Jim Interlicchio, very striking image. Disturbing. I cannot ignore it.
Carey, delicate picture. I like it.
Matt Laur, another image I cannot pass over it... it takes me to some well known Leica classics.
Gary McGhee, beatiful, delicate, elegant image.
Jonas Fjellstedt, I like your choice of framing, depth, color... looks a placid, nice place to live.

I already have my next pic... see you in three days. Thank you all.
