matthew_newton
Out of curiousity is there any retailer who stocks YS adaptors for various cameras? I don't really have a pressing need for one at the moment, but I am hoping to get a Spiratone 85mm f/1.7 lens down the road and that has a YS system mount, and I would like the ability to get any good condition lens and get the adaptor (for OM) seperately if I need to. Thanks.
walter_degroot
i have some ys lenses / including an 85mm
the ys system is compatible with the T and T2 system except you lose the auto diaphragm.
the canon FT apparently is ok but the canon FD is kludgy. I bought a long zoom for my miranda and it came with a canion mount, there is an additional bracket which must be removed.
Rick Oleson says that the fixed prong on the FD adapter must be adjusted for max lens opening., and then the adapter is commited to lenses with that max aperture.
newer mounts are simply not available. the only fairly modern cameras that have the mounts are Nikon na Minolta. Not until I wil the lottery will I ever get a YS for K mount. Custom machining.
WWW.BUTKUS.ORG has a YS manual. http://www.butkus.org/chinon/y-s_mount/ys.htm
when I got my Miranda 85mm, I had to return it as the miranda sensorex has no stop-down button. so these lenses come both ways. they exchanges it for the one with the lever.

The 18mm f/3.5 and the 135mm f/1.8 also show up on the big auction site,.
there lenses are "old school" with heavy construction.
be willing to buy a lens and mount just to get the lens.
Not a Pentax K or a canon eos.
the kalimar auto t was totally different.
I read somewhere that some later Sigma lenses sold as fixed mont were really YS lenses, perhaps with

other makers such as sun, rokunar? cambron? and sigma sold YS mount lenses.
