>> Any Sabbath, Sunday issues?

It's Sabbath in Israel. Personally I'm not religious so it does not affect me but it might be with some. Anyway, I guess you can't please everyone.

But it's the topic that bugs me. I failed to find any specific one so apart from the time/date, there will nothing in common with the pictures. Am I missing something?

Happy shooting,

Yakim.

Mike and Yakim, your right, I think this is a fantastic Idea... I think one of the things I'm looking forward to will be the 'mundane' photos that will come of this global get together... Wouldnt it be amazing if something terrific happens at or around this time and we had a permanent record for when someone asks; "what were you doing when...?"

Our camera club is hosting a seminar on April 5th, the guest speaker is David Middleton. He will be giving his presentation at 11 am (the appointed time of this project, at least here in the northeast corner of the US). Could be a fun opportunity.

The results will be interesting to look at. A snapshot of our world!

Since The Time will be midnight on Saturday night here in Korea, there's good chance I'll be photographing drunk people. But I can't be sure--that's still a long ways away.

It might be good for people to include their locale and local time when uploading shots.

<I>"...what do you think is the right topic for this assignment, if there is one?"</I>

<P>

There is no "right" topic, shoot what ever interests you at the time specified. A single moment in time all over the world, that's the connection.

If you're worried about how well it works without an assigned topic, visit the <a href="http://geoimages.berkeley.edu/worldwidepanorama/wwp108/index.html">World Wide Panorama</a> and see the incredible variety of VR panoramas shot at the winter solstice last December, most of them at the exact moment in UTC (not all, including mine, alas).

Same premise as this is, but as you can see, it dates back to 1997 with Robert Abbett's Wrinkle in Time. Nothing new under the sun...
