chrisrichards
I bought a Yashicamat last year and have been pretty pleased with it. Now I'd like to move up to a Rollei - a 2.8 for preference. I'm not happy about buying by auction, and would appreciate recommendations of reliable dealers. I live in France, but have often bought from the UK, and would go further afield if the quality and price were right. Thanks in advance for your help
frankfitz
I live in Scotland and have used a company called Ffordes of Inverness. To date I have bought Mamiya, Hasselblad etc and for the most part been happy with the quality. They also sell Rollei both new and second hand. Give their website a look using Google. https://secure.ffordes.com/index.htm I have no connection with them other than as a customer. Good luck Frank
www.antiquecameras.net
<p> I'd go with keh.com<p> Check out my <a href="http://members.aol.com/dcolucci/rolleitlr.htm">Rollieflex TLR Price and Info Guide</a></p>, but remember you will pay a bit more from a dealer ( you are getting their reputation and w.arranty-if any)
steve_bellayr
There are any number of dealers in the USA. Check Photonet's review of dealers. I picked a Rollei from one of them. Very pleased. I paid less than a comparable one on ebay. When I bought mine I read Mr. Colucci's guide. It was very useful. There's an enormous amount of info on the net ref. the TLR. It has a large following. You can even pick up the Rollei manual gratis.
david_schwartz6
Here in New York, Eli Kurland has a great shop where he sells Rollei's (as well as Hasselblads and Leicas) and gives excellent support. He is THE MAN in NY. see www.kurlandphoto.com.
david_schwartz6
Of course, did not see until just now that you live in France. Try Robert White in the UK -- wonderful dealer. Extremely good service to back up the sales as well. www.robertwhite.co.uk
robert_marvin
I've only had him repair Rolleis, but Krikor Maralian, is one of the best Rolleiflex repair people in the US and he also sells Rolleiflexes: http://www.krimarphoto.com/Sales.htm

sanders_mcnew
Chris, for decades the best source for Rolleiflexes was Ken Hansen Photographic, on Madison Avenue in New York City. (Ken sold 31 Rolleiflexes to Richard Avedon over the years.) Ken closed his shop a few years ago, but he still sells Rolleiflexes and Leicas from his apartment. I bought a Tele Rolleiflex from Ken last November -- very fair price, and I am ecstatic with the camera. Ken stands behind his cameras. He has his Rollei technician go over each camera before he sells it, installs a Maxwell screen for ease of focus, and gives a warranty for the cameras he sells. I cannot say enough good things about him. You can reach Ken by email at KHP19@aol.com. You should add him to your list of candidates.
