Are there any instructions on the site for how to make images the right size

for posting? I always have worked with raw images using photoshop elements and

know how to get them the size I want to print, but have not ever posted any to

the web. I would like to post a couple of images on the site and have tried to

but haven't been able to figure out how to get the images an acceptable size,

can you help me?

I don't have Elements installed, but in the full PS you go to : Image > Image size, and reduce to a web friendly size (e.g. 630 pixels in the longest dimension) and then "save as" something else.<p>

Then, sharpen, and - should Elements have the Save for web function (under the File drop down menu)- save the smaller version in there (at around 50-60% quality.)

I have PS Elements 2, and use the "Save for Web" option after editing. There are selections for image size and resolution that allow you to save a smaller "web friendly" version of your photo.

Images posted in the forums are supposed to be 511 pixels or smaller in width (hopefully this will be increased soon). For images uploaded to your portfolio, anything larger than 1024x768 is just wasted space and bandwith IMHO.<div>00Hz5W-32270684.jpg.35c0ddfb1fa2ecf3e8f4dda5c5c2c61d.jpg</div>

No. Silly, eh? I wouldn't host your images here anyway, Virginia. Depending where you post in PN depends on the control you have over your images. Some, (most?) like the ability to remove their jpgs and this isn't always the case here. If you submit to a wnw thread they're uploaded for good, forever, without any control over your property. If you submit from your gallery into wnw threads using html, they still stay after you have deleted your image from your folder. Author to author, you might not like this lack of control over your material. Sadly, due to PN's lack of usability and dated software, many now host their images on flickr or pbase and use html code to post images here instead. This is done so when you delete from Flickr, they're gone from here too. Among many other reasons, it sucks finding your files blogg'd or hotlinked somewhere and not having any recourse.

Here's some simple html if you wish to go the route I just mentioned.

Cheers, I hope you found this answer helpful.
