sabrina_h.
Having a little trouble finding Ilford DD-X film developer like I am? ... I know where to get some. I just placed my order for 4 bottles. The operator said she would sell me 20 bottles if I wanted. Get it while it's hot my friend!
ILFORD Ilfotec DD-X Developer (Liquid) for Black & White Film - 1 Liter
Catalog # ILY921599? (you will need this number for phone orders)
$11.72 a bottle

http://www.uniquephoto.com/

Located in New Jersey, USA
Haleeluyah! :D
al_divenuti
Happy to hear you found a source! But I think Adorama and Calumet Photo still carry it (ordered some from Adorama two days back). Having said that, Calumet recently raised its price from $12.99 to $15.99 (!) so stocking up probably isn't a bad way to go if you use it regularly. lowell_huff1
Clayton F76 plus is a great comparison to Ilford DD-X. It dilutes twice as much and costs almost $3.00 per bottle less.
al_divenuti
Sabrina, Though I'm not sure exactly sure what Jim is referring to, I do think you're better off going there in person. The folks who own that place also own (or at least they used to) a couple of the Times Square stores (cue alarm bells screaming) and I would be double, triple, extra sure the item is in stock before you buy it. With developer chemistry it may not matter, but I would never consider buying anything pricey from them over the Net - short hands, deep pockets - if you catch the drift. sabrina_h.
I know B&H was out and Adorama when I tried to order a few days ago (went to Adorama in person); sent me into a panic. I ONLY use DD-X for my b&w films; nothing else will do for this chica :D I got nervous when I couldnt find it. I specifically asked her if it was in stock (she said yes); but the proof is in the pudding. My loving husband *snicker* used the last drop of ours (even though he claims to be a die hard diafine fan)
jim_causey
Sabrina, Let us know what happens. I personally have a bad feeling given the pedigree of these owners, but I hope it works out for you.
al_divenuti
Sabrina - I must have snagged that last bottle at Adorama. Sorry about that! And I only use it for Delta3200 and pushing Tri-X...
sabrina_h.
Well, I have a photoshoot this coming sunday that screams ilford DD-X. Gotta shoot a couple of b&w rolls (per request of the client). I hope I dont have to resort to pan handling DD-X (and im serious :D ). They promised me by friday ... we'll see
sabrina_h.
.... just out of curiosity Lowell, I'll try that Clayton F76; in case Ilford does fold.
ronald_moravec1
This is what you run into when you depend upon proprietary products. Get a scale and learn the phone for Bryant labs, Photographers Formulary and Art Craft Chemicals.
rustys pics
"This is what you run into when you depend upon proprietary products...." Yeah right. And grow your own food while you're at it. The already mentioned Clayton F 76 is a really good alternative to DD-X. Hopefully Ilford's chemical line will be back in production shortly. The film & paper lines seems to be getting back to normal.

sabrina_h.
just so you guys know, my 4 bottles of ilford DD-X developer arrived this afternoon. I've also read the reviews for this place, most of the feedback seems to be for delayed shipping. I got my bottles! ... any questions? :D
