sander_vesik
So, apparently its a new film in 400, 800, 1600 speeds that was launched some time last year. Supposed to have even better grain and extremely good low-light colour reproduction. It shows up on fujifilm's japan website, but other than that, all seems very quiet about it. Does anybody knwo how to get it if you are not in Japan? Or how long its likely to take until its available? Even better - anybody know how to convince Fuji that making it available elsewhere *fast* is a good idea? Yeah, and the website shows a new version of Reala (reala ace) existing too. r.t. dowling
According to reports I've seen here on photo.net in the past, Superia Venus is the same thing as Superia XTRA, which is what they call it in the U.S.A. and some other countries.
bob_yarsh
I just got back from Japan, and when I went to get print film in a store there, I saw tons of the Venus film but no XTRA. I couldn't figure out from talking to people if this is what they're calling XTRA or a new film. Wasn't able to tell from their Japanese website either. I'm shooting a roll now of the Venus, so it would be interesting to know what's in my camera, although my guess is that it wouldn't be that different from XTRA in any case. Maybe it's like their XTRA vs. Press film, which seem to be just about the same if not identical.
