<p>A happy Nikon Wednesday, everyone. Sometimes, that bag of fancy camera bodies and lenses is all about ... Craig's List (hey, anybody want a fixer-upper antique chair?).<br /><br />Shot anything completely utilitarian? You know you have. Share!</p><div></div>

<p>At San Francisco's Davies Symphony Hall, the grand pianos are stored under the stage, and they can bring them up using an elevator in the center of the stage.<br>

<p>The soloists are Philip Cobb, principal trumpet for the London Symphony Orchestra, and pianist Yuja Wang. They performed Shostakovich's Piano Concerto #1 with the London Symphony, conducted by Michael Tilson Thomas</p><div></div>

<p>Mostly busy with family health crises recently, and doing some personal documentary photography related to that. But there are also a few opportunities for other photos here and there. While at the hospital I had a hard time getting a clean signal and went to the top of the parking garage to finish a call. I noticed an abandoned red sleeping bag in a vacant lot across the street. So I waited for a red car to pass and snapped a photo. It seemed to pair nicely with another red car photo I took last month, timed to mesh with a traffic wreck-dented light pole.<br>

<p>yesterday eveneing i went to take a photo of a rock.<br /> but this will have to wait.<br>

<p>Well where I live nothing is more utilitarian than sheep.</p><div></div>

<p>Inaugural shots from my brand new D7000. Even though I'm a couple generations out from the new version, I am blown away by this camera... and oh did I get a great deal on it. My trusty D70 is now resting on a closet shelf after 10 years of flawless service.</p>

<p>Another "antique" in need of restoration. This sad lamp-post is in the churchyard of a small village about 30 miles away. Notice the modern energy-saving bulb.<br>

<p>Went to the LA County Airshow at the William J Fox Airport in Lancaster, CA. One of the show's attractions was a hitch of the Budweiser Clydesdales with their signature red, white and gold beer wagon and obedience-trained Dalmatian dog.<br>

To qualify for one of the hitches, a Budweiser Clydesdale must be a gelding with an even temperament and strong, draft horse appearance, be at least four years old, stand at least 18 hands (72 inches, 183 cm) at the withers when fully mature, and weigh between 1,800 and 2,300 pounds (820 and 1,040 kg). In addition, each horse must be bay in color (a reddish-brown coat with a black mane and tail), have four white stocking feet, and a blaze of white on the face.<br>
