flying_tiger
I just bought a 35mm Hewes SS reel and a Kinderman SS Tank for one 35mm reel. The reel fit perfectly in the tank. However, there is some space(about 1/4-1/3 inch) between the top of the reel and the cap for Kinderman tank when closed. In other words, when agitating the reel has some room and it moves up and down. Is this normal or it's supposed to have snug fit? What's your experience? Thanks. john_shriver
Perfectly normal. Rattle, clank. Congrats for the good taste in reels.
silent1
Some movement is desirable, in fact -- it helps ensure you get good circulation during agitation, even if the tank is filled the point of haveing little or no air space above the developer. What you describe is about what I'm used to in my Nikor and Brooks tanks with whatever brand of reels they came with (I got all my equipment used, so don't know the brand of reels). gp_.
It is normal, and you will hear a bit of a racket when you shake it/turn it over.
tim obrien
I take the spent 135 cartridge and pull the other end off. I squeeze the cartridge into a squished "C" shape and put it onto the top of the reel before putting the canister top on. No thunk. tim in san jose
