1. I have just finished calibrating my monitor with Spyder 4. I do this about every 3/4 months. In the past I have always had to lower the brightness substantially by using the menu and buttons at the front/bottom of my monitor. However today I did not have to lower the brightness at all, although this clearly seems to have happened by some means in the before and after images. My Monitor is an LG E2340-1 Is it the case nowadays that the Spyder upgrades the calibrator instead of what we had to previously manually do with the menu? Tentatively happy but somewhat perplexed.

  3. I thought I would try something different from the usual tourist shots. Here is my effort. Glad of any feedback.
  4.
I am using Google Photos for sharing my images with friends not on Facebook. However I find that whilst Google Photos have little icons above a particular album (coloured circles with a letter inside), you may be told that you have shared that album with Joe Bloggs, then GP suggests to you that you additionally share the same album with Joe Bloggs. A peculiar contradiction!
Others have the same experience? Can anyone explain?

  5. Very nice ! There appears a straight line on the right which appears just above and in the reflection below. Whilst it is probably just natural, I would be tempted to use the healing brush to soften it. JMTCW.
  6. your feedback means a lot !

Chris, Piierre and Alf for your very nice compliments. Much appreciated !
  8.
Unfortunately, Edward, in Elements one chooses what to import, including which drive. I chose correctly but for some unknown reason Elements decided differently. I may uninstall, then re-install the program.

  9.
Hi Jos & Edward - it is definitely a PSE problem. Windows Explorer does recognise the G drive, but not any "I" drive, which is good because there is none.

When I go to the hierarchy view of PSE it shows everything under the "I" drive but when I go to delete the word "delete" is greyed out.
Edward, how do I "check the setup for Elements" please ?

  10.
Recently I bought a new larger hard drive G because my existing one F was too full. I copied all of the photos from the F drive to the G drive. I deleted from the Photoshop Elements 11 Catalog all my 29,000+ photos from the F drive but not from the hard drive itself, then installed the photos from the G drive into Photoshop Elements. That process seemingly worked fine however next day when I went into Elements Organiser, all of the photos were showing as missing and when I selected a photo I was told it was in "I" drive ???, but on searching Elements started to search in the F drive. Why hasn't it retained the knowledge that the photos were imported from the G drive ?
