This photo really works because of the right side. The warm yellow tone, the lights, the people focused on their meals and friends -- these all combine to make a beautiful example street photography. Kind regards, m.

Jon -- I don't understand your criticism and I take exception to your suggestion (and your 2/3 rating) that I know these people. I do not. They are complete strangers. This is a 100% candid photograph -- it was not posed. And even if I did know the people, how does that take away from the subject and theme? Kind regards, m.

Well composed, perfect exposure. The interplay between the shadows and highlights give "body" to the image. But might I suggest a smaller image next time -- this is simply too large. Kind regards, m.

This is wonderful -- a moody, brooding image. It is hard to believe you did not manipulate this in photoshop. It REALLY does look like a painting...Kind regards, m.

The lens flare works well here. From Christian theology it is "a ray of sunlight shining down on the Son of God" whom is also known as the "light of the world". Another possible theme -- "the Lord Jesus Christ looking down upon His subjects". Theology aside, and now from a technical point of view, I wish the tones were better and the contrast was higher. The photo lacks "punch" -- something a photo like this really requires. Kind regards, m.

A agree about the dark pillow. IT just draws too much attention to itself.Removing it would create a cool "all-white" theme. Beautiful bride in a relaxed, unguarded moment. Kind regards, m.

I love cemetery photos -- especially from this particular one in Paris! Great job in photoshop. Good job composing. Only which we could see some detail in the face of the statue on the right. But with the face directed downward, it would not be receiving any light from above. Perhaps fill-flash might help, but I fear it might ruin the "atmosphere" of the photo. Kind regards, m.

Definitely one of the top photos in your folder of portraits. It is casual yet quite expressive. Superb crop. It has a bewitching innocence which I like (perhaps because of the head covering, but also due to the model's coy expression). Could use a little sharpening. Kind regards, m.

I enjoy coming across pious photos of a religious nature. This is a fine example. Kind regards, m.

A simple yet effective image of innocence. The backlight on the hair is bonus. Normally I prefer my models to wear no jewellry, but if this rule is be broken, going all the way seems to work (at least here)! Kind regards, m.

This is well captured. Perfect choice of focal length. People are nicely placed within a carefully chosen composition. No doubt almost all visitors to the Vatican Museum take similar shots at the end of their visit, but few turn out this well. Kind regards, m.

Yes, "street" photography (or any photography trying to catch people in a candid fashion like here) can be uncomfortable for the photographer. But if you can get past that, the results can be worth it. The diagonal orientation works here. I don't find the light on the right particularly distracting -- it seems to balance that side with the man on the left. Would like to see a bit more contrast, however -- the image seems kind of flat. Kind regards, m.

Sports photography is difficult (I know -- I've done it!). But this turned out well. Could be improved by a cleaner, less busy background (i.e. no people), but this is tricky in fast paced bicycle races where you are panning the action. Kind regards, m.

Great shot and perspective. The cables and clouds make all the difference. Great choice of lens. Kind regards, m.

This is what you call "in your face"! The smoke is an interesting effect, but the photo on the whole does not do much for me. Kind regards, m.

Love the golden glow! The shadow behind creates an interesting effect. Kind regards, m.

It is not obvious this was handpainted. The colors are very washed out and there is almost no contrast. I like the photo itself, the catchlights in the eyes are great and so is the overall composition. But the flat washed out colors are a real negative in my opinion. Kind regards, m.
