Just a garden shot. Done outside in bright sunlight. Converted to
black and white in photoshop.

For some reason, I have spent more time looking at this picture than any other on photo.net. It's magical to me. I wonder if you could catch the reflection of plant material or human flesh in future pictures?

I removed another version of this same photo in error. Here it is for those that are interested.

I can only give you my "gut" feelings since I don't have a photography background. I feel a good nude photograph makes the viewer want to explore the picture as if it was a sculpture, at least that's what I try to do in my nude pictures. I think in this photo, the best part is the area where the back of her knee meets his hip, and this area missed all of the glorious lighting that would make me want to touch the curves like it was a sculpture, and explore the places I can't see. Also, as far as their postures, he's open and relaxed, and her arms are crossed, I would have had her open her arms to echo his "open and receptive" posture.

Thanks for all the constructive criticism. I have some photography books on order so hopefully future submittals will show improved technique.

Thanks Amy, and yes, I have looked at your portfolios....I just haven't set aside a day to write comments yet :) What do you think of the color vs black and white or duotone? I don't have a photography background - is there some reason why color is not considered "fine art?"

I was ready for the gym one day and the sun's patterns on my wood
floor called to me. The original is in color, but this has been
switched to duotone. The color version can be found in one of my
folders for public viewing. This is a self portrait using a timer
and tripod.

I suppose, like fine expensive wine, I'll have to start studying good black and white photography to develop a taste for them. Thanks for the support.

I cropped it a bit, raised the contrast, and converted to black and white. I have to admit, I'm partial to color.
