Same as above said - i would also like to see more detail and possibly a catclight in her eyes - the way they are looks "dead" - a bounce should do it (or fill in if you`re a flash man).

ok it`s a bad print, but i think the 2 major problems here are the messy background and the "falling" of the subject to the left. The first should be avoided with a large aperture or wait till the car is gone, the second problem should be corrected with a tilt of the camera.

 

 

There is something weird about this picture,...

 

When i first look at it i liked it very much but when i think rationally i think i should point out:

- the neclace and the shadow are distracting to me

- the composition has no balance

- the hair is just pure black with no definition

- the lighting is quiet good

- the shadow below the girl`s eye is not flattering since it shows her eyetooth (i think that`s the right english word)

- the look on her face is not seductive

 

All above said - i like this picture very much - in spite of rationallity.

Oh btw i think lucy`s crop is much worse, since it amplifies the inbalance of the composition.

I don`t see too much of the author in this photo, all the above said is right - even in dance shots, the faces of persons are the most important thing! Look at a similar subject of ms. Liu!

If you shoot in color you must take care of the color composition too - the band has two purple posters on each side and even if you crop out the bystanders that will be a problem.

And when you shot children step at their level (get on your knees if it`s needed)!

Keep trying however.

I saw the movie and to me this picture doesn`t relate too much to it - which is not bad!

I think this picture is better than the movie in question.

Wonderful color composition here - the girl in the background ads depth and is not distracting to me - i wuold crop the picture just above the knee of the girl at right - just to have a strong diagonal which ends out of the picture - the grain is not an issue here for me.

Still to graphic or raw - but i like the idea, if you read this try to look at my "Primavera" series, a series that I`ve just begun for a show I will have later this year.

i think its ok with the right and top of the picture - the problem lies in the girl`s clothing - there`s no much detail in it.
