  1. Ben I'd love to, but spending $25 on anything besides food & shelter isnt an option. Christ, I'd LOVE to be able to say I had $25 PERIOD at this point....

I was in a near fatal motorcycle accident in 2002 (hit by uninsured 19 yr old) & I've been out of work for 2 1/4 years now. 15 days in the hospital left me $100,000 in debt & in a wheelchair for over a year.

Thankfully, I've finally booked some work for mid-feb & even though its just a few hundred buck gig, I'm not complaining at all. In fact I'm f*cking THRILLED - I'm convinced its a sign that 2005 is going to turnaround finally.

Hopefully 2005 is better for all of you this year as well.......

and watch out for green honda civics - they bite!

  2. I'm as aware of the apperent manipulations of the critique/ratings

system as everyone else is here. In the past I would often spend an

hour or more a week rating &/or commenting on new images here, trying

to particpate actively in the community. While thats now impractical

since moving recently & being forced to use a dialup connection (no

more high speed.... wahhhhhh!) I'd still prefer to contribute & avoid

becoming part of the problem. That said, I'm now approaching the

ratings/critique thing differently (at least until I'm back on a

    highspeed connection). My solution is:

Whenever I upload a new image, I try to rate a minimum of 10 photos.

When I'm posting a request for critique, I rate at least 20 photos...

with the intention of adding a comment/critique for at least 1 or 2 of

    them.

If everyone simply attempted to contribute/participate on at least a

certain basic minimum level, I think that we'd all get more from our

time & postings here. Not that it should be required or anything like

that - but those who are uploading images &/or requesting critiques

should, on their own, make sure they're making an effort to contribute

    also.

  3. I'm in Phoenix (moved here 2 months ago), but I do get to l.a. once a

month or so, so having it processed in L.A. might be an option...

I just dont know of a lab in either city that processes odd/old

formats.... if anyone has any suggestions I'd appreciate them. Also,

if you do happen to know of someplace I'd really appreciate a URL or

phone # if you know it.

    Thanks all.

  4. Posted here a couple weeks back about this problem.... I log in, with

correct email & password but it kicks me to a error page saying the

page cant be accessed due to a prob @ the server end. I can usually

manage to jerry rig my way beyond that using two broser windows and

some more creative paths to get to my portfolio & etc if i need to do

anything there. basically once i am in, 1/2 of the times i click a

link to go to another area of the site, or my portfolio, and tells me

i "have to be a member to do that" & it boots me back to the login

page. Usually i can hit back on the browser, and try a different

section or something and again, its about 50/50 whether i'll get

through or bumped back to log in.

Its kinda confusing as far as what will & wont trigger a kick back to

log in. Really has no rhyme or reason... unless you're counting

electronic schizophrenia as a reason ;)

Perhaps the server is female & invoking the old 'woman's perogative'

(LOL)? I'm not sure... but i thought you ought to know the problem is

    still occuring.

  5. Obviously I did manage to find a way around the error i was having for the last two days BUT NOW...........

If I click on the "manage my portfolio" link from my "workspace" page or try to get to my portfolio via the menu (gallery/my portfolio) I get kicked to the login page. However, i can click back in my browser and get to the previous page, where it still recognises me as logged in.

  6. I've been getting an error page when I attempt to login, after I click

the button to submit my email & password -- instead of the usual

workspace page I get the following error page:

    Server Error

The requested URL cannot be accessed due to a system error on this server

Just thought I'd give you a heads up since its been acting buggy for

    the last two days now.
