I am the original owner of an 8000ED and I use Vuescan. I have attempted to connect using adapters - firewire to thunderbolt & tunderbolt to USB A / USB C - and failed. I now understand that I need to buy a computer to run the scanner. If I purchase a used Macbook Pro with a Firewire 800 port, will I succeed (assuming both scanner and computer are working)?
