  1. Here's my Kodak Instamatic X-15 world-conquering outfit...the original camera and bag from 1975, and some flashcubes and film that I bought several years ago. There is a cartridge in the camera, so that makes the three cartridges that I carried with me on our trip to Europe. Later in 1981 I took the same outfit on a trip to South America and once again took some amazing pics. There are still places online that sell 126 cartridges and develop the film as well, so it's still possible to use these cameras! Andy
  2. Wow! Nice!! You and dcstep are making me very envious of your excellent bird shots! Very nice pictures, everyone! I really look forward to, and enjoy seeing what everyone does each week in this thread! Andy
  3. Isn't the D7100 also an APS-C camera with a crop factor of 1.5 vs the Canon's 1.6? 50mm on the D7100 will have a 35mm-equivalence of 75mm vs. the Canon's 80mm. Still not quite a standard view.
  4. Those are very nice shots! The first is very dynamic, and it looks like that lens worked very nicely with your subjects. The second shot is just plain cool! I really like it a lot! The fisheye effect in the foreground is really eye-catching and is what makes the shot for me.
  5. Let's get Canon Thursday started! You know the rules. My picture isn't the most exciting, but I'm posting something just to get this going so that I can see what ajkocu shot with his 5d3!
  6. Spring is almost here which means there'll be lots of flowers to shoot but until they're here, I'll have to settle for what's inside. Canon R6, EF-S 60mm Macro
  7. Bluejay questioning my motives...Canon R6, 100-400L
  8. The 70-300 IS is actually a very nice lens and a good performer. It's a great option if you don't want to shell out the cash for a 100-400mm. As Ken said, the price is good too, with examples of the Mk1 selling for less than $200 in great condition.
  9. Looking at me through the window...Canon R6, EF 100-400L
  10. Very true and even as old as it is, you'll find the 7D to be an incredibly capable and customizable camera.
  11. My first camera was a Kodak X-15 Instamatic. I took it on our family vacation to Europe and packed a total of three 126 cartridges for the trip which, at the time, seemed like more film than anyone could possibly use in one trip--72 shots!! I still have many of the pictures. My first serious camera was a Pentax ME Super that a very good friend 'loaned' me back in 1989 but said that I didn't need to give it back anytime soon. He just asked me a couple of months ago if I still had it (I do!) and said that he still didn't need it back.
  12. Oops! I need to correct the text in my photo...this shot was taken with the 7D MkII and the EF 100-400L.
  13. This is only a part of the group of 16 turkeys that have been around our property since they were little chicks. They're here today, actually! Canon R6, 100-400L
