  1. Ok so the quick version, long-time photographer but beginning wedding photographer, starting out with off-camera speedlites. I have, currently, 2 600EX-II RT flashes (actual Canon, yes) powered by Godox PB960 LiIon rechargeable packs, along with the Canon ST-E3-RT radio transmitter, and a Promaster FL190 with a Phottix Laso RX (just a cheapie backup / 3rd "effects" light I can gel or whatever). I understand I'm not at "Profotto" level, just starting out ya know. Profotto=few years on. Anyway, I've been considering if perhaps the Phottix Laso TRANSITTER is better than the ST-E3-RT, for controlling all 3 of my speedlites, primarily for the AF assist beam (80D low-light focus = meh, even on good glass), but for other features as well. I was curious if other shooters out there had experience with both the ST-E3-RT and Phottix Laso, and what your preferences were in what situations and why? Does one rule over all? Should I avoid one or the other at all costs? As I said, when it comes to this "area" of photography, I'm a new guy with a pair of speedlites. So I welcome your input. Thanks, guys!
  2. So, we all know a guy called "Pirate", I'm sure. This is the Pirate I know's sister. She said, "I love your hat, can I try it on?" I said "Sure, if I can take your picture wearing it." Shot handheld on my 80D, ambient light only, 24-70mm lens, crazy-h
  3. Saw this beauty on a weed in the yard, so I took more than a few shots of her. Got the focus spot on the face with this one...I believe I was playing around with a macro ring on my 24-70 (yeah, not the best combo) but can't be certain. Shot handheld on

    Lightning pic

It was raining, but lightning, so...always down for shooting lightning, right? Set up my tripod in the garage doorway, f8, 30 second pops, shooting my 10-22mm on my 80D (As soon as they make a 10-22mm f2.8L, I'll move to full frame, k?) and I happened to
  5. I was on vacation out west, shooting around Devil's tower, which I saw mostly through my EF-S 10-22, I was hiking the path around the base and some folks had spotted some climbers wayyy up there. Luckily, I had brought ALL my gear with me, and was able t
  6. Well, he was just lying there, practically BEGGING me to shoot this. So...I did. Wouldn't you? Shot on my 80D with 400mm f5.6, I think...either that or my 70-200 f2.8 with a 2.0x converter...
  7. The work day had wound down to a close (I was working ride maintenance at Cedar Point, the greatest amusement park on Earth!) and there were a few Great Blues hanging about, so I popped my 400mm f5.6 prime on my T5i and took this shot handheld. They were
