    Dogs and their Owners! What do you think?

    I really like this photo too. Mostly because of the girls' happy (and somewhat self-conscious ?) expressions and their body language. In contrast to the 'stoic' dogs. They dogs look to be the same breed and that makes a great connection. Both girls stand out well against the background. The dogs do too.

     

    I'm not sure whether and how you do any PP but if so, a couple points to consider are:

    - both girls' faces look to me to be rather in shadow compared with the brightly sunlit scene; you could consider selectively brightening the faces up just a touch

    - I found the 'whale-tail' at the bottom a bit distracting and it's not difficult to patch/clone out

     

    A final point you might want to consider is rotating the photo 1 degree clockwise and cropping off most of the 'bar' horizontally at the bottom.

    I would have gone with a vertical rather than horizontal framing. I find the background rather distracting, and vertical framing would have cut out the trees on the left and most of the houses on the right. I want the dogs and their smiling owners dominating the photo.

     

    I really like the smile on the girl to the right. The girl on the left is okay too, not great but good. With a few minor changes, this could be a wonderful photo.

     

    Speaking of dogs, I recently had to put my dog Sugar down. I had her for 12+ of her 13 years, and I loved her very much. I shed some tears when the veterinarian injected her. She was a rescue dog, terribly abused early in her life. If any strangers got too close, she'd try to bite them, so I always had to be on the watch for people coming up on us from behind when I took her for her numerous daily walks.

     

    In the end, she was rapidly going crazy. She wouldn't eat unless she was hand-fed. And she started peeing on the bed and worse instead of asking to go out. The vet said she had cognitive dysfunction syndrome, and Sugar showed terrible signs of the disease. I had no choice but to put her down. I have a photo of her taped to my iMac monitor as well as having her collar draped on one corner of the monitor so I see it every day. RIP, Sugar.

     

    Dogs, it is funny how the become one of us...I had a dog, he was found left on the side of the road...a whole litter. I got one, it was around Presidents Day...so I named him George. George was the best and and the last dog I have had. George was laid back, very mild tempered. Everybody loved George. George looked like a mix between Shepard and and the color of his fur looked like Irish Setter...I went into the navy, and about a year later, my mom and dad notified me that someone had poisoned George...to this day, I think about him...

    Great photo, I can't offer any sophisticated criticism beyond the comment, who could resist a snap of a happy girl with her dog?

    Thanks Eric, I was out all afternoon taking photos...it was fun...met a lot of interesting people who felt the same as you and I...it is ok to go out and keep distance and still take photos!

    So, are you tired of sitting around waiting for this CoronaVirus to go away? I definitely am. Yesterday (Sunday afternoon), I went out for a walk. Noticed a few people out walking their dogs...SOOOOOOOOOOOOO...what do you think? I started snapping photos of the dogs and their owners. I got a ton of photos..not only dogs and owners but alot of people out practicing Social Distancing.....after all the photos were gone through, this photo stands out the most to me because the girl in the pink sweat-shirt and her smile...and how her dog is just sitting there with her. Anyway, this is how I spent my day of Anti-Socializing!
