the campground is right next at the bottom of these eroded soft sand stones

like in Mono Lake, these rocks "grew" at the bottom of a lake caused by a chemical reaction of fresh water with carbonate

these "temple" columns are a result of volcanic activity

These delicate structures emerged at the bottom of a lake when fresh water came in contact with streams of carbonate. They will submerge again as soon as the water level rises back to normal.
