  1. I don't think that I am such a good photographer that I need a Leica Monochrom for my B&W photography. My trusty MP with a roll of decent film is at this point good enough. Yeah, that combo also eliminates any issues with "interpolation artifacts" in post-processing and there is no worries about those overly complex shooting modes/menus that clutter digital cameras. Just my $0.02.
  2. Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina (MP, 35 mm 'cron, Ektachrome E100)
  3. Hmmm... isn't our week count a bit off? Yeah, it' snowing here, it's cold and all signs point to the year's end, but we're not quite there just yet (MP, 35 mm 'cron, TMY)
  4. A hanging sculpture over the river Miljacka, Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina (MP, 5 mm 'cron, E100).
  5. With temperatures expectetd to plummet well below 0 Celsius here in Minnesota next week, here is a bit of summer nostalgia (MP, 35 mm 'cron, Acros).
  6. Thanks, and given that it was getting dark, I had to open the lens really wide. Also, Roy said that before he died in Blade Runner. It's a memorable quote from one of my favorite movies :)
  7. This past 4th of July getting ready for a swim in a lake. It rained on and off that hot July day, three times on us while we were at the lake. My son Mirza, chatty and restless as always. If he could only keep still for a fraction of a second :). But, then again, the memories would not be the same. [MP, 35 mm Summicron (IV), Acros]
  8. Thanks Arthur. It was taken last spring in Minneapolis, MN, USA. One of those rolls of film from a while back and developed only recently.
  9. Arthur, it's Minneapolis, MN, but - trust me - it could be anywhere in the USA these days. It's hard to fathom, but the homelessness has become very common and it doesn't look like the cities are doing much to address the issue. For example, over a decade ago, the city of Minneapolis diverted funding that was earmarked for public housing toward helping a local corporation (Target) build its headquarters in the downtown area. The city even provide $100,000,000 subsidy so that this company would not "leave" the city. Here is another photograph from the same morning, ironically, shot in the vicinity of Target HQ. In the last few years there were efforts to revitalize downtown area and make it more "sexy", etc. One of the projects was to redesign and rebuild Nicollet Ave (one of the main streets in the heart of downtown, Minneapolis), and New York City's High-Line was used as an inspiration. This street was supposed to be turned into a touristy, glitzy, low or no traffic, pedestrian-only zone with pretty windows, expensive shopping, a lot of Instrgramable photo-ops, etc., etc. In the end the project was shut down by the local businesses and corporations based on that street. The official excuse: this revitalized pedestrian friendly area with a lot of nice seating and views would attract too many homeless people and that would be "bad for business". Go figure.
  10. The US is, on one hand, the wealthiest country in the world. On the other hand, the ratio of poor and homeless (as a % of overall population) is the highest in "developed" world. Did I mention the highest prison population in THE WORLD? Yes, sadly, the US has more incarcerated people than China. Those are the facts. But I am digressing... Leica MP, 35 mm Summicron, Kodak TMY.
  11. Baščaršija, Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina (Leica MP, 35 mm Summicron v. IV, Kodak TMY)
  12. I love that song. Brings back some good memories.
  13. Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina (MP, 35 mm 'cron, E100).
