  1. Hi Joseph, yes the infinity stops have been moved, they were all over the place when I got the camera. I have since played around with their positioning and have managed to get the viewfinder almost to perfect focus. However the if I focus with the ground glass it is always off focus by about 50cm to the front of the object I am focusing on? I am using horseman film holders, ones that are advertised on ebay as being suitable for the 980? But it must be something to do with the positioning of the ground glass or the film plain surely...
  2. Hi people, just wondering if someone can help me here. I recently bought a Horseman 980 with 105mm lens. All the test shots that I have taken with this camera have been out of focus - I have tried focusing with both the ground glass and the viewfinder, each giving different out of focus results. When I got the camera I realised that the little lugs on the belows rail were all over the place, so I am thinking that these have been moved around and that is why I am not getting correct focus. I do have the correct CAM for my particular lens so not sure why viewfinder focused shots are blurry? I did do some experimenting with the ground glass focusing and found that no matter where I set the lens on the belows rail, my shots were consistently out of focus, with the focus point being about by 50-60cm in front of the object I was focusing on? Can anyone provide any advice as to why this might be so?
  3. Thanks Maris_rusis - it works! It's a bit of mucking around, but I guess with these cameras mucking around is what you do. I might just get the shutter serviced as it is a bit sticky on the timer and to make sure shutter times are accurate too. I'll ask if the preview tab can be fixed also at that time :) thanks.
  4. Hi Mag_miksch I haven't been able to find a manual with that kind of detail in it. The shutter actually works fine...it is just the shutter locking button that I am pointing to. It won't open the shutter so I am unable to get image on ground glass and to focus
  5. Thanks dan_fromm. Yeah I have tried that, and it does have some forward and backward movement I noticed but nothing happens...I have tried it with the shutter uncocked and cocked with same result. Do you think it is something that could be repaired by specialist repairer, or replace the shutter/board?
  6. I have just received my first medium format camera from Japan - a Horseman 980. However I seem to have a problem, I cannot work out how to open the shutter to allow focusing on the ground glass. There is one little switch that doesn't move at all, and I am thinking this may be the switch to open the shutter. A photo of the switch is shown below If this is the the switch which allows the opening of the shutter it is not working at all. Can anyone with experience of these lenses let me know if this is correct?
  7. Hi I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with the 65mm and 75mm topcor lenses in 6x9? I was wondering which of the varieties available at these lengths were the sharpest and easiest to use?
