You should take a chance and just buy online from a reputable vendor. If it doesn't work you won't really lose anything. I've owned a M6 for a few years, and I'm still more comfortable with a SLR. For me it's a challenge dealing with the framing accuracy on rangefinders. I don't know if I will ever really get used to it.
