I received a Pentax XG-1 for Christmas, and would like to use it to photograph models that I paint, but am having trouble getting it to focus properly. I would like to take close ups of them, but when I zoom or get close enough to catch all the detail (the are small) it will not auto-focus. I know it can focus that close because the picture on the screen is perfect, until I hold down the button to take the picture. Then it looses its focus and gives me the red box. I have tried manual mode and selected macro, but it does not seem to matter. Is this just a design flaw (that it can only focus close when not actually taking a picture) or am I doing something wrong.</p>
