Beautiful stones in the foreground. The top half of the pic seems to be completely disjointed from the bottom half though.
-
Good composition, the nearest rock and parts of the sky look overexposed though.

Built in 1360 by William of Edington, Bishop of Winchester.

Ben, I really don't think you should sell your camera. I had a beautiful set of minolta film cameras and lenses until last year, which I decided to sell as I felt very frustrated with my photography and needed to fund my purchase of the D70. Selling up was arguably the worst decision I have ever made. The moral is that you will do much better working with the equipment you have so you really get to know it and use at its best to get the results you want.

Very nicely done.

A bygone age of photography nicely captured
-
I think it would be better without the person on the top right, but the blurred head and shoulders in the top left is a good idea which could be made more of.
-
Nice light on the figure but the background looks a little strange - perhaps you've overdone the effects?
-
Nicely done shot, I like the composition.

Jeremy, thanks for the bit of poetry (Philip Larkin I believe). My canon G6 produces horribly sharp images so I had to blur the result in photoshop (so that it better matched my eyesight!).

please comment

I like the panorama and the light you have here. Matt, your photo's look like some of my bros paintings!

Thanks for the comments, I think you reflect my thoughts on the image. Personally on a technical note I am a bit bothered that the hand is out of focus whereas the fence isn't- not really intended and a bit of carelessness on my part.
-
Looks like a scene from a drama, has he just stepped out of a container?
-
Hm looks a bit out of focus to me

I think this would be better in black and white, or perhaps desaturated a bit (more). I like the mysterious hand though, great idea.
-
I think the oversaturated colours add to a very surreal effect, I like it.

Matt, good composition, and view, give the feeling of distance and space. However the colours and lighting leave it looking a bit flat.
-
Thanks for the comments, sorry about the green sky, I think I must have been over enthusiastic with the curves layer.

There are two horse riders in the distance. I had managed to
frighten their horses whilst lurging in the hedge taking the shots of
the church I poseted recently.
