1.
Thanks guys. I really appreciate all of your advice. I took it out for a test yesterday and the pictures were ace so I've decided, since it's been serviced, looks in good nick and is a joy to use, I'm gonna keep it. I'll let it air and stick some absorbent gel packets in the film compartment when it's not in use. Like Stephen said, part of the smell might be the new parts too. Thanks again.

 2.
Hi there, I've just bought a used Leica M2 body from RedDotCameras for £499. On their website, it had a few cosmetic marks but they mentioned that it had recently been services and was classed as Exc+ rating. The service is what made me go for this particular camera out of all the rest so I paid up the hefty price and clicked the purchase button.
When I receive it, I was very impressed. The view finder was crystal clear with a slight blue tint. The rangefinder patch looked sharp and contrasty and the internals were like brand new. I loved it.
Then, I gave it a sniff inside. It really smelled strongly of Mildew/Fungus/Mould. As if it's been in a damp cellar or loft for about 50 years. This has got me worried. I'm wondering if it was really in bad condition and they've rebuilt it from other parts to make it like new. I emailed RedDotCameras and told them my concerns about the smell and they said I could return it for a refund but they said it was stripped and cleaned and rebuilt. The thing is, it's in such good condition I don't know what to do. Should I keep it or return it. Is the smell fungus spores? Will fungus grow in there? Will it infect my lenses? It's a bit of a dilemma. Can anyone help?

Thanks, Max
