1.
Well speaking from experience I jumped in with the x-pro1 after reading many reviews and shooting with Hasselblad H commercially and also having previously owned the Contax G system and the early S series Fuji,s I had always held a soft spot for both Range finders as a tool and the Fuji approach to sensor design. However after nearly 12 months of shooting with the Fuji with both the Zeiss lenses and the Fuji offerings It just didn't do it for me. Every camera has its own mojo and some work for you and some don't, its not about pixels, moire or anything that is technically tangible. For me looking back through my images I decided that the Fuji mojo wasn't compatible with me. I did however keep one body and the Zeiss 32mm (love this lens so much I kept a body to use this lens) which I hadn't used for several months until two weeks ago, when away I took the Fuji and a Leica away (Fuji as small backup) as usual the Leica failed again (just back from Leica care after the LCD failed with no warning) now suffering excessive battery drain to the point that a new battery on full charge would drain in less that 3 hours without shooting or even turning the camera on. The fuji came everywhere and I am now thinking that perhaps I should have looked harder and understood the Fuji mojo as the files that I have processed on return are truly sublime in colour and detail. I think in short with every different camera comes a different image making experience. The x-pro1 is a cracking camera and at the current prices I would recommend taking the fuji mojo for a spin. You will need to watch you fingers and thumbs as the button layout is rubbish. Especially the exposure compensation but all of this has be dissected over and over in reviews.
