<p>It's a an SMC Pentax-M 1:2 (so f 2.0) 50mm. </p>

<p>Light meter is working, just checked that it's moving appropriately. I tried moving the ring back and forth using some force and now I do get some snappy movement. Still not a very great action but better than it was before. </p>

<p>If I use a lot of force the aperture ring seems to turn slowly, but it has none of that snappiness that it should have.</p>

<p>I recently picked up an old Pentax K1000. The camera seems to be in pretty good condition, with the shutter nice and snappy and the light meter still working (had to replace the battery). The aperture ring, however, seems to be stuck. I even tried to take the lens off the camera and turn it, but I was still unable to. Any one know what could be going on?</p>
