1.
Thanks David, I'll look at the Flexaret too.
On a side note, TLR users must be some of the most helpful folk around. My girlfriend was telling me about how abusive runners forums can get. This thread + others I've read are just full of people offering their experience out the goodness of their heart

 2.
*the autocord, not the automat. I'm learning!

 3.
Yeah thanks Dave, that's a very good point. I've done the same thing with digital lenses many many times.
I think it boils down to Rolleiflex or the Automat then, based on the consensus. But I'll try get a loan of them to make sure. Although for the price I've seen the Automat at, it's not such a large risk.

 4.
Yeah thanks Warren and Gareth. The market for a decent Mamiya body seems to be quite dry (although the lenses seem to be readily available). One focal length would be liveable with, don't think my 50 lens has come off my digital camera for about a year (may even move on some lenses to put the cash towards a tlr).
Gareth, a few people have mentioned the Autocord, I might try find out if anyone I know has one, see if they'll let me shoot a roll.

 5.
Fantastic advice, thanks folks. A friend offered to let me try out his Rollei so I think I will start there. However, I'm fairly certain I will love it. Aesthetic is everything for me, so a bit of extra time preparing a shot is fine (especially when you consider the higher cost Stephen mentioned).
JayDann, it is the grey version which I've seen for sale, so maybe it won't function as well as I hope. But I'm going to keep my eyes open for others while I try put a bit more money aside. Thanks!

 6.
Smashing, thanks for the advice Stephen. I've not looked at the Yeshicamat yet so I'll do that.

 7.
Hi folks,
I'm looking for a camera for my first foray into medium format. I've got about £200 ($280) to spend as a birthday present from the folks. For this money I didn't think I would get anywhere near a Rolleiflex, and was looking instead at the Rolleicords. However, there is a Rolleiflex T for £300 ($420) in my local camera shop.
What do folks think of the T models? I'm really eager to get started on medium format, and it would take me a while to save the extra £100.
Originally I was going to try and get a Mamiya c330 as I've heard the 80/2.8 is a nice lens. Is this the best for my budget?

Thanks massively in advance for any help!
