  1. Hello again, First of all I would like to thank you all for your responses. I will certainly give all their due consideration in helping me make purchases. May main concern was trying to utilize what I had as much as possible. From all the reading I have done, manual mode was going to be my only option no matter what new camera I purchased, with these lenses. I have looked and narrowed my choices down to either Sigma or Sony. The reviews and comparisons tell me that the Sony a6300 is the most bang for my buck right now. I do like the Sigma Merill SD1, however I don't believe my lenses would have full function anyway. So, when looking at cost, for right now, the Sony a6300 seems the best choice at 3.5x less the cost. I just have to buy an adapter. As time goes on, I would purchase E mount lenses for the Sony for full function and capability. Thanks again, R.T.G.
  2. Hello, Coming from a noob, I have a question that I hope someone will help me with. I can see so much has changed over the years. The more I read, the more baffling it gets. To make a long story short; I bought my equipment many years ago and it was hardly ever used! Never had the time because of work. Now I am retired so I have all the time I need. Tired of using my 35mm SLR and scanning slides/negatives. I have a Sigma SA-9 with a lot of lenses, and I would like to go digital. I am considering the Sony a6300, from the reviews I have read. The Sigma lenses I have are as follows: Sigma-12-24mm-F4.5-5.6-EX-Aspherical-DG_lens Sigma-24-70mm-F3.5-5.6-UC-Aspherical_lens Sigma-28-80mm-F3.5-5.6-Mini-Zoom-Macro-Aspherical_lens Sigma-70-300mm-F4-5.6-Macro-Super-II_lens Sigma-180mm-F3.5-EX-DG-IF-APO-macro_lens Sigma-50-500mm-F4-6.3-EX-APO-RF_lens Will any of my sigma lenses work on the Sony a6300, probably only in manual mode, with an adapter? Thanks, R.T.G.
