1.
The ideal number of cameras to own, is one more than you currently have...

 2.
Nikon FM2n, solid, dependable, non-battery dependant and Nikon (prime) lenses are very, very good.
Medium format is very nice and gives minimal grain, but do you really want to be hauling around something that heavy?

 3.
I've recently acquired a second hand Nikon FM2/T body, and after giving it the once over to make sure everything is in order I've discovered that the judas window is dark.
If I put a lens cap on, and shine a torch on the aperture ring of the lens (in the dark), I can just about make out the aperture marking in the viewfinder window, but otherwise, looking through the viewfinder you can't even tell that it's there.
Has anyone encountered this before?
Any suggestions as to what the problem may be, and whether there's an easy fix?
If it's a major issue to fix, I may just live with it as is... the camera seems perfectly ok otherwise.
Thanks in advance, Jonathan

 4. Thanks David, I'll put a little patch of electrical tape over the hole, then get on with putting a roll of tri-x through the camera. It seems to be very nicely put together. Sorry to hear about the theft of your camera (and no doubt other stuff as well). I won't get into what I think about burglars, but I'm sure we have similar opinions on the subject... J
 5. I use car interior cleaner (sparingly). Cleans outside of cameras and cases inside and out. Autoglym interior shampoo is my choice but may not be available in usa.
 6. As an aside.... There's a small plastic cover missing from the top left of the lens mount next to the lens release button. I was going to tape this up (neatly) to prevent dust entry. Would this let light into the film chamber? J
 7. Thanks for the info (and peace of mind). Just need to put a film through it now. No springs on mine though. J
 8.
I've just bought a very clean SRT100x which seems to be working perfectly, but have noticed that there is a plate just above the mirror (that carries the foam mirror damper) which is loose to move up and down.
Is this normal for these cameras, or has something come adrift?
I'm new to this model, but have never seen anything similar in any other cameras I've owned in the past.
Thanks in advance for any advice received.

Jonathan
