  1. I have 4 Hasselblad lenses all CFi versions used with studio and large portable flashes never had a problem with the PC sockets or lock levers breaking.

In my opinion, the PC lock lever spring tension is too weak to do any good as far as keeping a loose PC cord terminal from falling out out of the PC socket on CFi lenses. I use Paramount cords that have always held nice and tight.

  2. I agree with Kevin regarding the 50CF needing only a 60mm adapter for the Hasselblad Pro Shade. You won't have any problem with a filter attached to the lens.

I have the 50CFi that indeed uses a 70mm adapter for the Pro Shade.

If you can, get the Hasselblad Pro Shade 6093T (latest version, cat# 40739) IMHO, I feel it's the best one. I especially like the fact that the front of the hood drops down for easy access to the front on the lens especially on longer focal length lenses.

  3. I basically cradle the camera in my left hand focus with my left thumb and index finger. I use my right hand to operate all the controls on the lens.

During actual shutter release I move my right hand under the camera and press the shutter release with my right index finger. I tried using my left index finger to release the shutter but I would also get a cramp in my left hand when doing so.

  4. In using TTL fill-flash with my 503cw/PME45 I usually meter the

ambient light/background behind my subject (portrait situation) using

the spot meter mode of the PME45 and just dial the TTL knob on the

body say to 200 ISO when I am using 100 ISO film. I assume this is

    basically the correct procedure.

Are there any idiosyncrasies that I may need to know about in using

the 503cw's TTL with fill flash? I am using a Quantum Q-Flash T2 and

    TTL adapter.

    Thanks,

  5. I received my Pro lens shade on June 4th. To my satisfaction it is a 6093T, it's engraved right on the rail.

The bellows material is indeed thinner than the pro lens shade when I had my Mamiya system. Of course this helps keeps the bellows from acting so much like a spring. The clamping mechanism seems to grip pretty tight, most likely another improvement in the "T" model.

  6. Cameron, QG de Bakker,

Thanks for the replies. What happened is that I ordered a Pro Lens 6093, shade from KEH in "like new" condition that supposed to include everthing even the box. Then I came across info about a 6093T version as well. At this point I don't recall if what I ordered is a 6093 or 6093T. At any rate it should arrive tomorrow June 4.

Since it includes the Hasselblad box I'll just wait and see if it says "40739" on the box which is the product code for the 6093T according to a Hasselblad catalog I just recently aquired.

If I do indeed receive the 6093, I have some good tips from you guys on how to deal with the creeping problem.

    Thanks for the help,

    Ted
