  1. I love the way this photo makes me feel like I'm in the room. Rather than just convey the image, this photo creates the sense of being there, looking at the obscured view. The framing of the shot is neither too tight nor too wide. It seems just right to me. Just looking at it, I feel like going to make a cup of tea. Very pleasing.
  2. During a trip to Europe this spring, I wanted to take a few night

shots in Paris. This photo was made using a Nikon D200 and a Nikon

12-24mm lens. I stood behind a ground-mounted traffic signal, for

some modicum of safety, and took a few different exposures. Despite

the cover of the traffic signal, some of the cars came quite close.

Anyhow, this was my favorite of the lot. What do you think? Any

suggestions for next time (however long it may be until then)?

  3. Nice shot. The sun is out of place from the area of the picture to which the eye is naturally drawn, so that's a slight detriment as far as the composition, but... I doubt you wanted to wait in the snow for hours until the sun moved somewhere better, so who can fault that? Overall, it's a very pleasing photo.

I like this shot. It could be cropped a little tighter from the top, but I like it overall. I think the leaves and such at the base of the flower make a nice contrast to the flower's color. If all we wanted was just the flower, it could be shot against a black background, whereas this picture shows it in its true element.
