1.
Thanks so much!
I had an idea after I posted this that maybe a strip soft box off camera axis as fill would be better and I think that's a similar idea what you are describing Rodeo Joe. As she does have a heap of light on the face.
The shoot with a real mode (and client) is tomorrow so I will definitely be pulling out the clamshell set up.
And I got myself some plywood!
Thanks again!

 2.
Hi there,

A new client of mine gave me this website as a reference for some shots I am working on... So I tested some shots in studio. I'm happy with the lighting. I used an octa as main light and then a bigger octa for fill.
BUT I think they will be bothered by the shadow on the floor. I didn't have heaps of studio time and I wonder if any of you guys can give me any advice? I won't have long to sort it out so somewhere to start would be good!
As an aside I have also used a plywood board as a floor surface but it's not quite big enough- any suggestions? We need to do a lot of shots so I am worried about the longevity of a paper roll.
Thanks so much! I am not sleeping!

Reference:
http://www.lemaire.fr/shop/en/shop-woman/967-robe-sans-manche-3662519293136.html

my options
001- is with strong lights on the background
http://s22.postimg.org/k4v3w9zm9/001cropped.jpg
004- a smaller octa as main and background not as strongly lit
http://s3.postimg.org/jo5ju1jzn/004_cropped.jpg
