  1. I was planning to pick up an Epson 2450 to scan medium format

and 4x5 film, but now I see that Microtek has a few new

    interesting scanners:

    ScanMaker 6800 for around $400

    ScanMaker 5900 for under $200

    ScanMaker 1800f for around $1500

The 1800f is out of my price range, unfortunately. Anyway, does

anyone have any experience with these scanners? Thanks!

  2. OK, Ellis, that's what I figured. Now, if they would just roll out an

updated model of the D1x with higher resolution and all the

latest bells and whistles for less money, I might be ready to

plunk down my credit card! Guess I'll continue to wait til the right

    combination comes along. Thanks!

  3. I've got a number of manual focus Nikkor lenses that I'd love to

be able to use when I get a digital SLR, but both the D100 and

the FinePix S2 do not meter with these lenses (ala the N80). Of

course, I could just use a separate meter, but that does slow

things down a bit in some situations.

Does anyone know if Nikon or Fuji are likely to introduce a body

    that would have this capability?

    Thanks in advance!

  4. So, here's the deal:

I can't seem to figure out how to get my partially shot rolls out

before the rewinder retracts the leader back into the film casing.

I've tried opening the back when it hits frame 1, but no success

thus far. I've also tried killing the power but that hasn't worked yet

    either.

    Any solutions?

    Thanks in advance.

    Bruce
