I am surprised that nobody commented on the sky - looks pasted in! And I bet it is pasted in! The sky is the only aspect of the photo that is not garishly overprocessed. This really was the photo of the week? Must be a joke!

    Sunrise Colors

The colors of the sandstone formations in the Coyote Buttes area come into full play at sunrise. Thanks for comments!

    Eye of the Needle II

Bela Lazlo, thanks for you encouragement and positive critique. I am new here on this site, and came here to find likeminded photographers who go beyond mediocracy and see more in a photo than just an image with 'correct' exposure. I found already one in you, and that encourages me to stay here and keep posting. Thanks again.

    Eye of the Needle II

The light is exactly on the details I wanted them to be and that was the intention when I took the photo. Please have a look at Bela Lazlo's critique, he gets it.

    Morning Reflection

sometimes the surprise photos we get are better than the ones we expected to get - this is perfect as is.

    Sands of Time

this is the one of all your desert sands photos that stands out to me most. I love the long exposure, I see you took it at 7:45, and at that location it means it was getting dark, even though taken in summer, hence 97 seconds. Infrared I assume - the white appearance of the grass (foxtail, I'm not quite sure) really draws you in, it's almost mesmerizing. It also encourages me to go more beyond what is generally accepted as 'reality' in landscape photography in my own development as a photographer and to stand behind it. Again, great work. May I ask you a personal question? Were you born in Germany (or a german speaking country) or are YOU carrying this name from your German parents?

    Eye of the Needle II

This hoodoo is located in a remote, roadless area in Arizona. Taken at sunrise, I chose the black and white version to add to the mystical, timeless and otherworldly character of this place. Comments Welcome, thanks
