Does anybody have experience with sanding down the body of a 500c? I know it sounds like blasphemy but you can burn me later.
I've come across a 500c (everything but the lens) for under $200. But the institution that owned it long ago decided to carve their name
into the chrome finish. So I figure I could sand it down, Polish, and then give it a nice brushed look. I've come here to listen to some
expert warnings. Please help me be aware of issues that could arise from this, as well as the metals and coatings I'll be dealing with.
