1.
Greetings from NYC. I posted in the introductions section last week. When I came back to check for responses, I don't see my post, so I am going to reintroduce myself.
I am part of a mother/daughter photography company and we plan to shoot weddings. We are in the process of becoming legal to do business. I've been spending a bit of time on this site reading and learning. I've found a lot of answers to questions that I have, so thank you.
We have done a few unpaid gigs already and I would give them a passing grade. None of the shoots that we have done were taking a paid job from a photographer. One was my son's pre-prom party, one was a relative's engagement shoot and then their wedding. The newlyweds were not going to hire a photographer at all so we jumped at the chance to volunteer. We are developing a plan for honing our skills and building up a portfolio.
We shoot with Sony gear. We have 2 a99's, a Zeiss 85mm 1.4; Zeiss 24-70 2.8; Sony G 70-200 2.8; a Minolta 50 mm 1.7 and also a Sony crop body (a57) with a Tokina 11-16. We also have flashes and triggers.
I am looking forward to being part of the photo.net community and maybe will get up the nerve to share our first gig pictures.
wb
