1.
It appears everyone is thinking pretty much what I was thinking: I'll just stick with the G3 X for the time being and see when/if I ever run into a situation where I'd require more of the camera. It's a great learning tool anyway, so I'll just donate the 350D to a local youth club or something in case one of those has use for it. I do hope the G3 X will be good enough for me for some time to come, that way I'll save at least something - seems the step up to a decent DSLR and a few good lenses isn't going to be cheap.
I was assuming it might make sense to start building the lens collection, but I don't want to first put loads of money on crop lenses and then do it all over again with a full frame if I really get into it so I'll just skip the middle step and see how far I can get with the current one. Thanks, everyone!

 2.
I tried to look for an answer but couldn't really find an answer to this question anywhere. My apologies if my search skills weren't sufficient.

I've had quite a few low-end cameras in my years and have only recently managed to take a few pictures I've actually liked so I got a bit more interested in photography again. I've just been shooting whatever I can. I'm not really a fan of landscape photography, I like more details, people, animals etc. I haven't yet hit a situation where I'd need to shoot bursts so that's not really something that needs to be considered here.

I bought a Canon EOS 350D (with just the kit lenses and used some stuff I had originally purchased for my EOS iX Lite APS camera, equally bad quality ones) a long time ago, played around with it some time and never got the results I liked so I found myself going more and more to my tiny P&S which gave me better results in a much smaller package. The 350D has now been sitting in the cupboard for the last few years. I recently bought a Canon PS G3 X and actually liked it. I love the reach and the pictures I've shot with it have been better than anything I've been able to get so far. It's not really that small, though, so my thoughts went back to the 350D and I started wondering if I should take another look at it after all.

1) Does that make sense at all? It's 8Mpix APS-C vs 20Mpix 1" sensor. I'm not going for wall-sized printed posters and I've yet to hit a low light situation the G3X couldn't handle. I know the megapixels aren't everything but I'm not yet that good at framing the photos perfectly so it allows me to crop more freely. Disregarding that, would I actually benefit from the bigger sensor?

2) If going "back" to 350D makes sense it seems to me I should get lenses that actually work with full frame bodies too should I get so excited I'd get one. I've no problem staying with Canon so what should I go for? I've looked around a bit and it seems most of the recommended lenses for example in lenshero (such as the EF 50mm f/1.8 II) are the same for both 350D and 5DS R (which I picked for comparison just for fun. Would love to own one but can't afford to even dream about it atm, especially with the current use :) ).

3) If it doesn't make sense, which body should I go for instead? As I don't have a single lens I'd actually have any need to keep it wouldn't even have to be Canon. So far most of my cameras have been Canon but I'm ok with pretty much anything.

I'm looking for the most cost effective option at this point. I do tend to get excited about new things but the excitement sometimes fades fast so investing hundreds (or thousands) of euros (or dollars) in this doesn't really make sense. If I can get two decent lenses for ~500e for the 350D that'd in some way be an improvement over the G3X I could go there and see if I'd actually find the energy to keep going and then I'd have something to start building my lens collection on if I actually want to invest in a better (maybe even full frame) body at some later point. If I can't get any noticeably better results with that I could just keep going with the G3 X and see if I end up in a situation where I want to buy the whole new set. If 350D doesn't make any sense I'll just try to sell it and spend that 50e or whatever to a pint or two.

I do have a Sigma flash and the battery grip for the 350D in case that makes any difference in the equation. I've no idea if that battery grip works with any other Canon DSLR body, but at least it works with that one. So, G3X, new lenses or new body?
