Isaac, well done. I've never been able to get a decent shot in the redwoods. Here you've used the contrast to your advantage. This photo beautifully captures the mood and majesty of the redwood forest.

Sharp and beautifully exposed. The cymbals and white gloves complete the 'story' of the picture. This is a hot shot with the sexy veneer of a 40's B&W movie. Well done.

Mark - what an eye! It's an original composition with the added artistry of a thoughtful, stopped down exposure. Perfect use of a silhoutted subject. Gorgeous!!

There was no digital 'hocus pocus' here. This is an apparently very rare horizontal lightning bolt going down the length of the SF Bay. I snapped around 30 images and got lucky with this one. I noticed that the flashes seemed to last about 1 sec. By keeping the trigger depressed half way while watching the skies, I reacted at the slightest hint of light. A lucky shot? Yes. But it is the real McCoy.

Beautiful shot. Vertical format and framing up, and exposure are excellent. The soft colors balance the crisp outline of the trees. I love the effect.

I have been trying to get this criter for a couple of years. He
finally stood still for more than a split second and opened his
wings. I was hand holding the 70-200 zoom and happened to have it at
2.8 - click!

This geisha was standing in front of the Kabuki Theatre - Minamiza -
in Kyoto during the year-end Kabuki festival last December. It is
not a posed shot. I removed distracting people from the background
digitally.
