1.
Thanks for the responses so far. Will run through them again and see. When replacing the head is it necessary to reset the firmware? Or is it just plug and play?

The manual seems to suggest that the head serial number needs to be entered in to the software since the piezo properties of each head and therefore the driving characteristics are different. I've been looking quite a bit for this software but the only type of software I seem to find are the third party ones for resetting the maintenance and ink cartridge counters. Any ideas?

 2.
Hi All,

I haven't been able to find anything online about anyone who has done a head swap on an Epson 3880 so I'm trying to get some feedback on this forum.

I have an Epson 3880 photo printer and it had some problems with the ink clogging the nozzles. I tried using cleaning fluid but that didn’t work. I took apart the head, cleaned the damper assembly, the lines and used a syringe to suck out each of the nozzles on the head assembly after leaving just the bottom edge submerged in cleaning fluid. I reassembled the printer, ran a couple of cleaning cycles to prime the lines and the head and tried printing again and I briefly got error 131B. After a couple more cleaning cycles the error went away but the printer doesn’t print. There are no errors and the printer receives print commands as normal and starts printing however no ink comes out at all. I've been looking up ideas and suggestions online for the last few days but no luck so far.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Thanks
