1.
Thank you Ken, no glue but you gave me a clue saying "cheap aluminium".

Someone in the past must have tried to open the camera, since the bezel is missing the central ring with the words "Kodar lens".

Also the front plate covered with leatherette is a little bent.
I lifted the aluminium ring of the bezel, and it came off. Then I lifted the plate.
I see that the infamous screw is not the one that joins the front with the end.
There are two other screws fixed on the front...one under the viewfinder and one on the side of the lens.

 2.
Some time ago I've purchased a Kodak Instamatic 300 in non working condition.

The shutter is jammed but, having disassembled other Instamatic, I thought to be able to give a look inside.

Surprise: the central screw placed inside just under the lens is reversed, as if it had been screwed from the front of the camera.

The corresponding position of the front is however covered by the fragile plastic bezel, that is even well stuck in position.

This leads me to think that:

there is a system to remove the bezel of the lens to access the head of the screw, or

the screw should be removed from the inside, using a special tool.

I am a bit puzzled. Have you any idea about this?
