Hi everyone :)
my name is Tammo Klassen and I'm a 24 year old aspiring photographer/videographer from Germany. I started out my photography career at the very young age of 12 with my dad's old film Minolta Dynax 500si joining him on his photography club's field trips. After not touching a camera for a couple of years after that I started looking into buying a DSLR at age 15 and I bought the Canon EOS 350D a perfect entry level camera which really sparked my interest in photography. The possibilities were endless all of the sudden with more than 36 shots and I fired away. I also worked as a sports photographer at the age of 15 for my high school's newspaper. To this day I still have and use the 350D as a backup camera as it still performs brilliantly but doesn't quite give me the output I need for my projects.
I'm currently in law school and doing photography as a side gig. For that I bought a new Canon 6D with some decent glass on it to be able to shoot whatever clients or friends could come up with, but I specialize on car, travel, nature photography and as of recently photojournalism. My kit has grown immensely over the years but I find myself resorting to only the essentials (6D, 17-40L, 70-200L, 50 1.4 and my dad's trusty old Canon AE-1 Program).
Speaking of which, just a few month ago I started using my dad's old Canon AE-1 Program as a fun camera which evolved into a full time backup camera that I'd use for those special moments only. I mainly shoot on black and white film (Ilford HP5) which in my opinion has the best look to it.
I also just recently started my own facebook page to share my work with friends and clients but I can't seem to be able to come around and upload any of my newer work as I find myself recycling all of my "old" photographs. (if anyone's interested, I do not currently make money through my photography so this is no advertising but some shameless self-promotion ;) -> https://www.facebook.com/603photography1).
I hope you guys liked this little introduction, looking forward to using this forum to gather some technical info and maybe some inspiration.
Also if you do want to stay in contact, all my personal info is on my facebook page :)
Thanks you guys :)
