1.
Brian S. - I did exactly that right before reading your post as recommend by someone else on another forum. And lo and behold, it worked! I wasn't going to force it in one fell swoop as I'm sure that would have broken it but instead I gradually nudged it back and forth until it gave way.
Needless to say I won't be using the timer function again. I still might leave it in for a service because shutter speed seems off. 1 sec seems more like 2. I feel so lucky to have unearthed this beauty, it looks brand new and can't wait to start using it in earnest.
Thanks for your suggestions everyone!

 2.
Hi, I recently purchased a Voigtlander Bessa II, the Heliar with Synchro Compur shutter version.
Apparently it had been sitting for 40-50 years unused. It looks in great shape but I'm guessing someone has cocked the shutter (Red arrow) then set it behind the self timer button (Green arrow) and it has just jammed.

Does anyone here know of any online instructions or have any advice on how to repair this problem? I've been quoted 90€ by someone down the phone in Paris to fix it but I'd gladly give it a shot myself if it wasn't too complicated.

Thanks,

L
