1.
I have just recently purchased a Canon F-1 Motor Drive MF. After I removed it from the shipping box, I pressed the battery check button and the light came on. I then attached the drive to my Canon F-1 and it advanced one frame with a solid response --- then nothing; the battery check light still came on when depressed. I then tried the drive on 3 other Canon F-1 cameras with no response from the drive or the battery check light. I open the battery compartment and the batteries where loaded according to instructions. I then removed the batteries the drive shipped with and installed a fresh set of Duracell Alkaline batteries in the same configuration, but no response from the battery check light and no response from the motor drive when tried to take a picture. I also checked the battery contacts and there was no corrosion. I also set the film to counter and tried C and S configuration and shutter speed to 2000. Any ideas on how I can gets the motor drive to work?
Cordially,
Gene

After I removed it from the shipping box, I pressed the battery check button and the light came on. I then attached the drive to my Canon F-1 and it advanced one frame with a solid response --- then nothing; the battery check light still came on when depressed. 7.
I had a Canon F1 overseas in the early 1970s and through a shipping error I never received when I got back to the United States. I recently received a new digital Canon DSLR and went online looking for additional lenses for it. This sparked my memory of he Canon F1, so I went to ebay and was delighted to find a number of F1s for sale, on a bid basis. I was able to win one bid on an F1, but was disappointed when it arrived as to the condition of the camera and the description by the seller. I emailed Abilene Camera for assistance but found they no longer repair or refurbish the Canon F1s.
Can anyone let me know of any companies or individuals who are in reputable circumstances who can repair and refurbish the Canon F1 cameras?
Cordially,
Gene
