1.
Hello,
Tonight while shooting I got an error 01 message. I panicked for a moment, then turned off my camera (5D Mark II), quickly removed and re-entered the battery, and turned on my camera to continue shooting. A few frames later, same error -- same actions repeated. (I was in the middle of a session on a beach during some decently high humidity and cool temperatures). For the remainder of the shoot (10 minutes or so), no more issues. After returning home I looked at all of the connecting censors and everything looked clean, but I still did a quick, gentle clean. I've now taken a frame at every aperture from multiple angles with no issues. I would be glad of this, but I use this lens frequently while shooting weddings. (I shoot only prime, and a 35 and a 50 would be pretty depressing without an 85, to me).
I live in France, and the lens was purchased in France as well -- my French is ok, but having to call and speak with a Canon rep in French might be too much for me. Any advise here? Was it a fluke because of the weather/conditions? Or should I go ahead and have it sent it and looked at (even if it's currently working fine) as a precaution? I do my best to keep my camera things cleaned, loved and cared for -- after years of shooting this is my first issue and I'm clueless about what step should be next.
Thank you in advance for any advise!
Dixie
