1.
Sometimes we can't afford luck! haha Thank you all again for all the helpful advice. After a lot of consideration I have decided to bite the bullet and buy a 50mm 1.4. I am sure I will be posting soon to get more advice. :)

 2.
That's a great advice! I am checking the website as I type. One event to begin with... ;)

 3.
Thank you all for your advice. I have been going back and forth regarding the purchase of a new lens. I have about 16 days before my event so I have to decide by tomorrow to give me time to practice on it! I like the fact that everyone has their own style of shooting and it works for them, on top of that, are gracious enough to spread that knowledge and I truly appreciate it.

 4.
Derek and Tim, thanks for taking the time to chime in. I have an event coming up in a couple of weeks and practicing will be helpful, thanks for that suggestion. I will try the settings Tim and see how it goes during the practice rounds, I have spent quite a bit of money lately buying the camera and a new laptop, so if it is completely necessary I will buy a new lens, which I have a feeling I will need to asap!

 5.
Amazing advice Alan! It is a challenge I plan to accomplish. I am so thankful to have joined this group.

 6.
Thank you for the advice Jeff. I will follow it and watch for sudden stops and changes in the music. I am thinking investing in a fats lens would be beneficial.

 7.
Thank you so much guys! Rohin, I won't be using a flash because it disturbs the musicians. I have been reading the manual and watching youtube videos but call me inpatient, I just wanted some specifics :) it sounds to me I need to invest in a lens, I will look up the ones you just mentioned.
JDM, Jeff's shots are close to what I want to accomplish. thanks! One time I made the mistake of using 20000 ISO, they were too noisy :(

 8.
I just bought a Canon EOS 70d, it came with a EFS 18-55mm lens and a 75-300mm lens. I am a beginner and would like to know what is the best setting to shoot inside a dark club. I will be shooting the musicians and audience. Please help.
