1.
The lens is indeed IF Michael, your comments corroborate my own prognosis. This was just a cheap ebay purchase to check out on my Lumix G1 so I am not looking for any commercial service. Too bad (but maybe the fungus is not having much of a detrimental effect on pics anyway).

 2.
Thank you for the suggestion sandro but NAAAAAA. Focus sleeve is plastic unit, no rubber, no screws underneath!

 3.
I am trying to clean off some fungus from this lens. I have the later version with the breech bayonet mount with push button. The fungus is on the element behind the iris. Can't be accessed from the front - there is an element in front of the iris. For the life of me I can't see how the focus assembly is put together, or how it comes apart - though I have a suspicion that the black flocking-like coating is covering things up!

Here's some pics to show the situation, top end, front group removed; mount end, mount removed, the element visible is the fungus afflicted one, it is mounted in the moving focus assembly..

http://www.tremyfoel.co.uk/photography/repair/FD300mm-2.jpg
http://www.tremyfoel.co.uk/photography/repair/FD300mm-1.jpg
http://www.tremyfoel.co.uk/photography/repair/FD300mm-3.jpg

Any FD gurus out there who might be able to help?
