1.
I found the lens to be worth adapting to my 40D DSLR, so I bought an adapter fitting the FD lens to the EOS camera. I was probably wrong in buying the adapter without glass lens, and find it impossible to focus manually. Is there any way to change the focal length, to achieve focus?

 2.
I am not a lightroom user, but judging by the many comments you cannot hardly do without it. That is, until you used Digital Photo Professional from Canon, version 3 covers all Canon DSLR's, version 4 is available for newer models, even though it can be used for JPEG format pictures from all EOS cameras. It may not have all the bells and whistles Photoshop has, but for most users the features are overkill, most in-computer adjustments are basic, and are all very well covered in DPP. Ever conversion from RAW it can handle, may be i bit slow, and other programs like Contenta Converter Premium do conversions in style, with many more nifty features.
So do you really need Photoshop, or could you get by nicely with DPP?

 3.
I purchased this lens recently, and find it a wonderful addition to my 40D system, and I am using the 50mm more than I thought I would, the quality of the shots is superb, sharpness is best, colors are as good as other lenses, the kit lens and a 55-250 mm zoom lens.
I read somewhere that the plastic mount is inferior to metal mounts, because by changing lenses often the mount will wear and lose its fit. Is that a concern?

 4.
I took the advise of Steven Lewis, and did freeze the camera for 2 days. the bugs must have being killed by the cold, I do not see them any more.
I did not open the camera for removing the critters ,they are not causing any trouble for me, so they can stay where they are, blowing with rubber ball did not remove any parts so I assume the critters will turn to dust.

 6.
Thank you, Steven, I will do that, that was a fast response, forums are a great way to get answers
Adalbert

 7.
It is true, there are several tick like creatures crawling inside the view finder, likely on the prism, it dos not show on pictures, is not on the mirror, but is ugly to say the least.
The camera has 8K clicks on the shutter, works well. Has anyone ever had such a condition? And how can I get rid of the bugs?
Albert
